MyTouch 3G w/ 3.5mm HeadPhone Jack Shows Up In Retal Inventory! Launch Just 2 Days Away.
Submitted by ThunderDog on Mon, 02/08/2010 - 1:03pmThanks to our always on the clock ninjas, we have this nifty little screenshot of the MyTouch 3G with the way too long, not so attractive name showing up in the inventory system of the T-Mobile Retail Stores. Based on the screenshot, we know for sure that you can have this Swype enabled device in absolutely any flavor of your liking, so long as your liking is limited to vanilla (white), or licorice(black).
Our source also informs us that the device will most definitely be launching in just 2 days. I still say that the 3.5 mm headphone jack should have been standard hardware from day one, but hey....what do I know. I'm just an underpaid blogger.

HTC Espresso being renamed for use on the MyTouch 2?
Submitted by ThunderDog on Sat, 02/06/2010 - 9:31pmUpdate: I will not go through the theatrics that have been commonplace in the past, but for the love of God, Allah, or whomever else you worship, PLEASE give credit to TMoToday when you use our info on your sites. Thank you.
The thing about rumors is that sometimes things change, and what was once good intel fades to black - disappears without ever seeing the light of day. That may or may not be the case with this, I guess only time will tell.
It is not new news that the HTC Espresso will be in T-Mobiles 2010 handset line-up. Noteworthy enough though, is that we have now had two sources tip us that internally T-Mobile is prepping to launch the Espresso as the myTouch 2, NOT to be confused with the myTouch 1.2 which will be launching any day now. The Espresso is generally considered to be a refresh of the Hero, the 'with QWERTY' version. Spec'd as a device with that same old Qualcomm 528 Mega-Hertz processor, I would have to question the reasoning behind putting marketing dollars, let alone any other dollars into a device with an aging processor in a world of Tegra and Snapdragon. Yes...I said Tegra, but thats another story, for another day.

Submitted by Armo on Sat, 02/06/2010 - 9:23pmAs TMoToday continues to grow, it requires more and more attention. Since mine, Shane's, and Tony's time is limited, we require help from the others like Tmobile Craver, Brian, and atlantasweetie. I'd now like all you to give a warm welcome to ThunderDog, the newest member of the TMoToday team! After reviewing many of his posts, we decided he was a very talented individual. We reached out to him and it turns out he has a couple of sources up his sleeve too. Our site will continue to grow and ThunderDog is here to occasionally help out.

What do we have here? More myTouch 1.2 Goodness!
Submitted by ThunderDog on Sat, 02/06/2010 - 9:10pmWell, I am only supposed to be writing occasionally around here and this makes it twice in 3 days, so I promise to take a break after this. One of my long time sources has given us a couple of things to think about as we prepare for the Saints to win the game tomorrow night.
Most of the stuff in the screenshot are things we already knew. At first glance, it does look similar to a screenshot put out there by that other T-Mobile site yesterday - but its not. Of particular interest though, is that squared in area in the middle of the picture. Clearly stated, it shows us that the MyTouch 1.2, or the new myTouch 3G with 3.5mm Jack (as T-Mobile seems to refer to it) will have the Swype text input method on board. This marks the first of the T-Mobile touch screen phones to offer an alternative text input method, and we are sure its only the first of many. What is Swype, you ask? Good Question. The answer is easy thanks to Youtube:
Have any of you used Swype on a device yet? What do you think of it? Do you think it will be enough of a selling point to move some phones off the shelves? Let us know in the comments.

HD2 to have Swype keyboard?
T-Mobile's upcoming HTC HD2 is full of surprises. The latest one is that the phone will allegedly come shipped with Swype. I have never used Swype but HTC's Sense keyboard, which is what I expected to come shipped with the device, is truly fantastic. It was as good as the iPhone's on the Hero's small 3.2 inch screen. Imagine how wonderful it would be on the HD2's 4.3 inch display. From what I understand, the Swype keyboard is great and revolutionary, but requires a learning curve. I hope the device comes shipped with both options available.

T-Mobile Q1 Lineup Revealed? (Updated)
A leaked slide shows T-Mobile's alleged Q1 lineup. The list includes the Sony Ericsson Equinox color refresh, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender LE, and the Samsung T139. All three of these devices have already launched and the dates given are accurate. Now we move on to the future. On the 24th of this month T-Mobile should launch a dark blue version of the Samsung Gravity 2. March 10 should bring the Motorola CLIQ XT, which is a keyboard-less version of the CLIQ. Nokia will launch the Nuron on March 17th. Expect the Nuron to be T-Mobile's version of the Nokia 5230, a low-cost Symbian smartphone. The HTC HD2 should launch on March 24th. Now I suspect that this slide may be a bit outdated since the myTouch 3G w/3.5mm Jack is nowhere to be found, so things might change. All in all, Q1 seems a bit weak for T-Mobile. Hopefully Q2 is where things start picking up.
Update: I have to question the legitimacy of this PowerPoint slide, considering Sony Ericsson is spelled wrong and Motorola is being referred to as "Mot". We'll see how things unfold.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G w/3.5mm Jack accessories surface
Thanks to our sources, we know the myTouch 3G v1.2, which is essentially the same as the original device only with the addition of a 3.5mm headphone jack, is expected to launch on February 10. Our tipster promised pictures of the phone's accessories, and so here they are. Thanks to the images, we know the phone's name will be "T-Mobile myTouch 3G with 3.5mm Jack". The top one is an image of the packing that comes with a slide-on cover. Hit the "Read more" link for a picture of a case and the accessories' shipping confirmation.
Thanks PeteyPablo!

Let’s play “What If?”
Submitted by Earthrazer on Fri, 02/05/2010 - 5:18pm
So the Wall Street Journal set the net ablaze with rumors of a T-Mobile IPO or outright sale yesterday. And let’s face it: entirely probable. T-Mobile UK folded nicely into Orange last year, and a similar move could easily happen in the U.S.
Or maybe something entirely different is just as likely? I’ve been spinning my wheels for around 24 hours on this, and have some preliminary theories of who might want to play ball. So who wants to spin the wheel of possibilities?

myTouch v1.2 Launch Is Just Around The Corner
Submitted by ThunderDog on Fri, 02/05/2010 - 10:24amTMoToday just received an interesting little tidbit from an anonymous tipster that is sure to make a few of you happy. According to our source, retail stores have received shipping confirmation on an HTC device labeled in such a way as to indicate the impending launch of the myTouch 1.2. We expect to have some pics for you shortly, but we can now confirm the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack along with a few other goodies. Way to go on finally grabbing a phone with the features the G1 should have had way back then. Good lookin' out, Magenta!
